Cegin mwd / Mud kitchen

Cegin mwd o gronfa y loteri fawr / Mud kitchen funded by the big lottery.

Yn ystod tymor yr haf bu’r ysgol yn llwyddiannus yn eu cais am gronfa y loteri fawr. O ganlyniad mae ardal yr ardd/ ardal dysgu tu allan yn dechrau edrych yn dra wahanol. Yn ystod yr wythnosau diwethaf bu Ondrej Uhrin yn adeiladu cegin mwd ar gyfer disgyblion yr ysgol a cylch meithrin. Mae’r canlyniad yn arbennig. Dioch i Ondrej ac i Pippa Gallagher am drefnu y gwaith yma. Bydd y disgyblion wrth eu bodd.

During the summer term we were successful in our bid for big lottery funding. The garden area/outside learning area is beginning to look very different. During the last few weeks Ondrej Uhrin has been building a mud kitchen for the pupils and for cylch meithrin. The result is fantastic. Thanks to Ondrej and to Pippa Gallagher for arranging the work. The pupils will really enjoy using this.

Gwasanaeth Dathlu 150 / 150 Service Celebration

Gwasanaeth Dathlu 150 22/6/16

Bore ddoe cawsom Wasanaeth i ddathlu ein pen-blwydd yn 150 oed ac i fendithio dyfodol yr ysgol. Diolch yn fawr i bawb oedd yn y gwasanaeth, ac hefyd i gynulleidfa gwasanaeth y plwyf am cytuno i ni ymuno gyda nhw yn eu gwasanaeth wythnosol.

Pob bore dydd Mercher am 10.00 o’r gloch rydym yn clywed gloch yr Eglwys yn canu. Yr hyn oedd yn wahanol bore ddoe oedd mai ein dau ddisgybl John ac Alex oedd yn canu’r gloch, ac wrth i ddisgyblion yr ysgol gerdded tuag at ddrws yr Eglwys, roedd nifer am y tro cyntaf yn gweld y fraich oedd yn cysylltu i’r rhaff yn siglo yn ol a blaen a hwn wedyn yn tynnu’r gloch a’i chanu. Roedd yn hyfryd gweld eu diddordeb, eu rhyfeddod a’r ‘wen ar eu wynebau.

Yn ystod y gwasanaeth cawsom fendith, anerchiad a gweddi gan y Ficer Mr Mansley a gweddi gan Mr Williams ein Ymwelydd Esgobaeth. Yn ogystal roedd grŵp ‘Agor y Llyfr’ wedi cyflwyno stori bwydo’r pum mil. Wrth gwrs uchafbwyntiau’r gwasanaeth oedd clywed rhai o’r disgyblion yn darllen am eu profiadau ac yna holl ddisgyblion yr ysgol yn canu’n frwdfrydig a llawen. Roedd un neu ddau o ddagrau i’w gweld ar wynebau’r gynulleidfa, a pham lai.

Ac yna i orffen cawsom orymdaith o’r Eglwys, at yr ‘Hen Ysgol’, ac yna i’r ysgol presennol. Rydym yn gwerthfawrogi hyn yn fawr.

Rydym yn awr  yn camu tuag at ddiwedd ein dathliadau. Heddiw a fory rydym wedi rhoi cyfle i’r plant a’r staff wisgo gwisg o’r Oes Fictoria. Fory mae gennym ein te parti am 1.00yp a’r  barbeciw am 6.00yh. Croeso i bawb.

Celebration Service 22.6.16

Yesterday morning we held our Service in the Church to celebrate the schools 150th birthday and to offer a blessing for the future of the school. Our thanks to everyone who was able to attend, and also to the parish congregation who agreed to allow us to join them in their weekly service.

Every Wednesday morning at 10.00am we hear the Church bell ringing. The difference this morning was that John and Alex, two of our pupils were the bell ringers, and as the other pupils walked towards the church door, many noticed for the first time the arm which connected to the rope swinging to and fro, and ringing the bell. It was wonderful observing their interest, their awe and wonder, and the smile on their faces.

During the service Mr Mansley our Vicar, gave a blessing, addressed the congregation and offered a prayer, and Mr Williams our Bishop’s Visitor led us in prayer. We also listened and watched a performance of the story of feeding the five thousand given to us by the ‘Open the Book’ group. Of course the highlight of the service was listening to some of the children reading aloud about their experiences at the school, and also their enthusiastic and joyful singing. A tear or two could be seen on the faces of some of the congregation, and why not.

We ended the service with a procession past the ‘Old School’ and then walked down to the school itself. Mr Mansley offered a blessing for the future of the school. Thank you everyone who took part and for being present in the service. Our thanks also for the kind words that were shared with us about the service. We really do appreciate this.

We are now coming to the end of our celebrations. Today and tomorrow children and staff have been given the option of wearing clothes from the Victorian era. Tomorrow, Friday, we have our tea party at 1.00pm and BBQ at 6.00pm. All welcome.
