Activities and clubs

Pupils can take part in a variety of activities outside of the curriculum. Each pupil is offered the opportunity to join the Urdd and represent the school at the Eisteddfod if they wish to do so. Pupils in the Juniors have the opportunity to spend three days on a language course at Glan Llyn, Bala, and a residential visit to Canolfan yr Urdd in Cardiff. There is also an educational visit to Pentrellyncymer Outdoor Education Centre for pupils in Years 3 and 4.

All arrangements for activities are made by the school and parents are informed of extra-curricular activities. The school also arranges a variety of clubs. For example, Clwb yr Urdd, sports clubs, art and crafts, cooking and gardening.

Educational Visits

When a child starts school parents are given a consent form to complete. By completing the consent form, parents are allowing their child to take part in activities that take place off the school site but within the County.

If an activity is outside the County, or if it is a residential course, parents will be asked to complete a consent form. The for will give additional and more detailed information relating to the activity and supervision.

Musical Instrument Lessons

The school organises peripatetic music lessons for pupils who have an interest in learning to play a musical instrument. As a result many pupils choose to play the guitar, drums, and bras instruments. There are opportunities to play the instruments in the school Eisteddfod, open evenings, and in assemblies and Church services. Parent s are expected to commit to paying for the whole year and must therefore ensure that their child has an interest in participating in learning to play the instrument. The commitment to pay for the lessons for the year is in conjunction with the schools agreement with the providers.
