Nursery Pupils
Nursery Pupils – mornings -8.55am – 11.30am
Joining the Meithrin Class is the first step for a child who is starting their education at Ysgol Tremeirchion. This can be a really big step for some pupils and possibly a bigger leap for parents as well. We do our best to ensure that this is a positive experience and the experienced staff are there to help you and your child. Many children are already familiar with the school as they have attended Ti a Fi and Cylch Meithrin. Some have brothers or sisters who are pupils in the school.
Parents of children in the Meithrin Class are welcome to bring their child to the front door entrance. A member of staff will be there to meet you. We do ask parents to leave promptly once your child has been handed over into our care. Your child will be registered and then will join the activities with other children in the Foundation Phase. At the end of the morning (11.30am) we kindly ask you to wait outside the main entrance door. A member of staff will hand over your child back into your care. Please feel free to speak to any member of staff if you want any help, information or guidance.
The children can stay in school until 12.00pm to have dinner if they are going to Cylch Meithrin in the afternoon. The staff from Cylch Meithrin arrive at 12.00pm to help during lunchtime. At 1.00pm Cylch Meithrin staff and the children will either stay on the school grounds to use the facilities or go to the Old School.
Cylch Meithrin (see also the ‘Cylch Meithrin and Ti a Fi’ page) provides pre-school education from 2 years old onwards for a cost of £6.00 per session and £8.00 for Meithrin Mwy. The sessions run every afternoon from 1.00pm until 3.00pm. and included a variety of activities based on play.
