Y Cyngor yn cyhoeddi cynllun arian grant i rieni/gwarcheidwaid
Mae Cyngor Sir Ddinbych yn hysbysu rhieni a gwarcheidwaid y gallant bellach wneud cais am grantiau gwisg ysgol ac offer.
Mae’r cynllun grant, a elwir yn Grant Datblygu Disgyblion ar agor i ymgeiswyr a gallai pobl fod yn gymwys os ydynt yn cael o leiaf un budd-dal, megis:
· lwfans ceisio gwaith seiliedig ar incwm
· lwfans cyflogaeth a chymorth yn seiliedig ar incwm
· credyd treth plant (ond nid credyd treth gwaith) gydag incwm blynyddol sy’n is na £16,190 (Ebrill 2011)
· credyd pensiwn (credyd gwarantedig)
· Cymorth o dan Ran VI Deddf Mewnfudo a Lloches 1999
· Credyd Cynhwysol ac ni ddylai eich enillion net blynyddol fod yn fwy na £7,400
Gall y grant gynnwys gwisg ysgol, dillad chwaraeon ysgol, chwaraeon y tu allan i’r ysgol; gwisg ar gyfer gweithgareddau ehangach megis sgowtiaid a geidiaid, offer ar gyfer gweithgareddau i gefnogi’r cwricwlwm, megis dylunio a thechnoleg; offer ar gyfer tripiau tu allan i oriau ysgol, gan gynnwys dysgu awyr agored; gweithgareddau Dug Caeredin a chyfrifiaduron, gliniaduron a thabledi.
Gall rhieni/gwarcheidwaid sy’n cael budd-dal cymwys gael grant o £225 os yw eu plant yn y dosbarth derbyn neu flynyddoedd 1 i 11. Os yw’r plentyn ym Mlwyddyn 7 a gall rhieni/gwarcheidwaid fod yn gymwys i grant o £300 os ydynt yn cael un o’r budd-daliadau cymwys.
Ni ellir cael grant gwisg ysgol ac offer os ydych chi’n cael Credyd Treth Gwaith.

Gall pobl sy’n gymwys ar gyfer prydau ysgol am ddim, yn ogystal â’r grant gwisg ysgol ac offer, ddefnyddio’r un ffurflen gais i wneud cais am y ddau beth.
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Gill German, Dirprwy Arweinydd a’r Aelod Cabinet Arweiniol ar gyfer Addysg, Plant a Theuluoedd: “Rydym yn cydnabod fod teuluoedd yn teimlo dan bwysau oherwydd costau byw a byddwn yn edrych am gymorth ariannol pellach i’w cynorthwyo gyda’r costau cynyddol. Gall fod yn gyfnod anodd o’r flwyddyn i deuluoedd a gall y grant hwn fod o gymorth iddynt i dalu am y nwyddau hyn.
Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Gwyneth Ellis, yr Aelod Cabinet Arweiniol ar gyfer Cyllid ac Asedau Strategol: “Mae Sir Ddinbych yn falch o weithio gyda Llywodraeth Cymru i weinyddu’r ffrwd gyllido hon a fydd yn darparu cymorth a rhywfaint o dawelwch meddwl i’r teuluoedd hynny sy’n ei chael yn anodd ar hyn o bryd. Rydym eisiau gwneud y broses mor syml â phosib ac mae canllawiau a ddiweddarwyd ar gael ar-lein i gynorthwyo’.
Council launches grant funding scheme for parents/ guardians
Denbighshire County Council is informing parents and guardians they can now apply for school uniform and equipment grants.
The grant scheme, known as the Pupil Development Grant is open for applications, and people may qualify if they receive at least one benefit, such as:
· income based job seekers allowance
· income related employment and support allowance
· child tax credit (but not working tax credit) with an annual income below £16,190 (April 2011)
· pension credit (guaranteed credit)
· Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
· Universal Credit and your yearly net earnings must be no more than £7,400.
The grant can cover school uniform, school sports kit; sports outside of school; uniform for wider activities such as scouts and guides; equipment for activities to support the curriculum, such as design and technology; equipment for out of school hours trips, including outdoor learning; Duke of Edinburgh activities and computers, laptops and tablets.
Parents/ guardians who receive a qualifying benefit can receive a grant of £225 if their children are in Reception or Years 1 to 11. If the child is in Year 7 and parents/guardians may be entitled to a grant of £300 if they receive one of the benefits,.
People cannot receive a school uniform and equipment grant if they are in receipt of Working Tax Credit.

People that are eligible for free school meals, as well as the school uniform and equipment grant may use the same online application form to apply for both.
Councillor Gill German, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Lead Member for Education, Children and Families, said: “We recognise that families are feeling the pressure due to the cost of living issues and will be looking for further financial support to assist them with meeting increasing costs. It can be a tough time of year for families and this grant funding can be a real lifeline to assist in paying for these goods. I’m delighted that this grant has been extended by Welsh Government this year to include all year groups and I would urge all eligible families in Denbighshire to apply.
“This grant supports also supports one of my key priorities as Lead Member to work towards equity in education by tackling the disadvantage gap in schools”.
Councillor Gwyneth Ellis, Cabinet Lead Member for Finance and Strategic Assets, said: “Denbighshire is pleased to be working with Welsh Government on administering this funding stream that will provide assistance and some peace of mind for those families struggling in these times. We want to make the process as seamless as possible and updated guidance has been issued online to assist”.
