School Council
The School Council is very active. An election is held every year to
choose the members of the council. Each class and year is
represented. They regularly hold different events to raise money for
charity. Opportunities are given to present to Governors and to
parents relating to their intended actions, and decisions about their
school. The Council has their own bank account and make decisions
about their spending priorities during the year.
The School Council has its own School Action Plan which is also
included in the School Development Plan. Each year the School
Council will agree on their pledge and on actions and priorities during
the year.
They also meet with the Parents and Teachers Association. Together
they plan activities, prioritise the spending and exchange ideas that
will benefit the pupils.
Here is the School Council’s promise
Ysgol Tremeirchion School Council will:
•
Help to keep the school healthy and safe
•
Help the children to be friends
•
Give opportunities for adults and children to share their ideas
•
Discuss new ideas
•
Raise money for charities and for children and people less
fortunate than ourselves
•
Welcome new visitors to the school and ensure that they are made
welcome
•
Work with the children on the Healthy Schools Committee and the
Health and Safety Committee
•
Do our best to make everyone happy and safe
•
Work with the Ysgol Tremeirchion PTA and develop a programme of
activities for the year
•
Contribute to policies - last year we helped develop the policy on
classroom expectations and playtime expectations
•
It is important that we as children have a voice, we have the right to
discuss and make decisions that effect us.
